In early 2008 he received two invites to play on the European Tour as an amatuer, in which he finished T19th at the Andalucia Open and took the Leading Amatuer Trophy at the Spanish Open, finishing T10th.
He made his professional debut at The Celtic Manor Wales Open in May 2008, finishing in 61st place after making the cut on the mark, chipping in for an eagle on his 36th hole.
He played his 7 invites as an affiliate member of the tour that season but unfortunately was unable to win enough money to prevent a trip to the European Tour Qualifying School, despite a T13th at Open de France and T12th at the Russian Open.
Finishing 4th overall, he came through all 14 rounds of the Qualifying Stages accompanied by his new and highly experienced caddy, Malcolm Mason. This set him up for his rookie season on the European Tour and both he and his coach, Graham Walker, are really excited and looking forward to this new stage in his career.
Danny's "Race To Dubai" started at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa in December 2008. He finished T37th but was unable to build on this the following week when he missed the cut at the South African Open.
